In 2023, the Localization Committee for Human Rights Protection was established within the National Association of Local Authorities of Georgia.
The committee, staffed by members of the NALAG Executive Board, was created under the joint project of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe and the Association—’Strengthening Participatory Democracy and Human Rights at the Local Level in Georgia’—financed by the Austrian Development Agency.
The purpose of the committee is to facilitate dialogue on the localization of human rights and to coordinate the activities carried out by municipalities in the field of human rights protection within the framework of the strategy developed by the association.
